Step 1 Disassembly And Stabilization
Since an Exercise Machine has many moving components the first step to transporting the elliptical will be to stabilize those parts so they will not shift as you go through door ways up or down steps and staircases etc. The First part you will want to focus on is the upper arms and lower legs of the machine. These will have to be disconnected at the joints using one or a combination of the hand tools listed above depending on make and model of the machine requirements will vary. Using a combination of ratchet straps and rubber moving-bands we will secure these components to other parts of the machine in a way that stops them from shifting. Packing tape can be used if necessary and available but may leave residue and is not ideal. Note that in many cases the upper arms of the machine may need to be removed which you will see why in the next step

Step 2 Path Clearing and Measuring
Evaluate the best course of action to get the machine to the truck and trailer you will be using to transport it. This will involve measuring all door ways Checking all possible paths and referencing the measurements of the machine to determine the best way to get to your destination. Deciding on the perfect plan is generally a skill learned through practice but can be done easily if you take your time preparing and weighing all your options before you start moving the machine. Butch Services Top Tip is to remove the upper arms completely making the machine much more narrow and in most cases necessary to fit through standard size doorways.
Step 3 Loading and Transporting
Once you have taken all precautionary measures it is time to execute your plan. Generally an elliptical exercise machine will have two small wheels on one end of the machine to assist in rolling down hallways or across flooring. In instances with clearance provided one person can lift the machine from the opposite end of the wheels to move it across flat ground, at narrow turns another person can assist in lifting the machine even higher to fit through tight passes. For steps or stairs a set of moving straps with shoulder harnesses can be used to float the machine over the steps and is very important to use proper form and precaution to prevent injury. Trailers with ramp doors are recommended for simplicity of loading and once loaded should be secured to tie downs with ratchet straps to prevent movement during transport.

Step 4 Relocation and Reassembly
Repeat that same steps at destination and take great precaution to avoid bumping scratching or scraping along walls, a heavy duty furniture pad can be used in instances when necessary to preform difficult maneuvers without damage to either surface. Taking pictures before and after disassembling each piece can help you retrace your steps when reassembling at destination. We also tend to replace whatever bolts or screws into the hole it was removed from when transporting to avoid loss or confusion of parts. Reassemble and test to ensure proper function.
